About Portraiture
A Fine Art Portrait is an heirloom like no other. Painted with oils and skillfully constructed it is more lifelike and more durable than any other two-dimensional art form. It will portray the subjects persona for centuries to come.

The Fine Art of Portraiture is not to simply render a likeness of an individual, a mere passport photo will do that. The calling to the portrait artist is to focus on the subject's finest qualities and present these qualities in their most superb expression. I approach each new portrait with intent to speak of the Stature of The Man, the Beauty of The Woman, or the Innocence of The Child. I exercise all of my abilities to speak of the uniqueness of each individual in this manner.

I strive to achieve this by employing Four Key Elements - CompositionColorCraftsmanship, and Content. (The content being the subject itself.) When these four elements are brought together (masterfully) the work sings, the portrait speaks beautifully and is unmistakably all about the subject.

Mastery is attained by talent through discipline. Talent and hard work go hand in hand in creating a great painting. God gives the talent, the portrait artist does their part being obedient (focusing on the goal) and He directs the artist's steps to completion.
