Dr. Harold Willmington is one of the four co-founders of Liberty University. For over 35 years he has served as Dean for Willmington’s School of the Bible. Besides being an incredible scholar, he is a wonderful human being. One of the many fascinating things I learned about him while painting his portrait was his love for old Bibles. So, I included one in this painting. Although I can’t recall the exact specifics of this massive book, it is a true treasure and relic dating back to 1617. This is one way to add a great touch to one’s portrait, and it will certainly help Dr. Willmington to be remembered for this very thing: his love of God’s word.
